The Arena Format

Day 1 is all about crowd-pleasing energy, speed, and showmanship. Split into two elite categories:

Exhibition Flair

Pure showmanship, music choreography, and maximum difficulty moves designed for maximum stage impact.

Working Flair

Practical, high-speed bar execution using 50% filled bottles under real-world service pressure.

General Rules & Specifications

  • Time Limit: 4 to 6 minutes for Exhibition Flair; 3 to 5 minutes for Working Flair.
  • Music: Provided directly by the competitor or curated by the live house DJ.
  • Equipment Provided: Standard bar mat, speed rail, tins, pourers, and regulation bottles. Competitors may bring custom props or bottles subject to pre-inspection.

Scoring & Penalty Matrix

Judges evaluate competitors across precise positive point metrics and strict negative deductions:

Exhibition Bottle Drop / Shatter -5 pts Per broken bottle or catastrophic drop.
Exhibition Tin Drop / Lost Tool -3 pts Per tin drop or lost prop/tool.
Working Pour Accuracy & Speed 10 pts Speed of service combined with correct proportions.
Working 50% Bottle Handling 10 pts Maintaining control with weighted/partially filled bottles.
Working Major Liquid Spill / Overflow -3 pts Excessive spillage outside the tins or glass.
General Time Limit Compliance -2 pts Deducted per 10 seconds over the required time window.
